I’m so excited to begin our summer scrapbooking adventures. I have been having a fabulous time of creating and preparing for workshops and projects to share with you.

Summer-time is a great time to enjoy some sunshine and outdoor activities, or to travel to exciting warm places. I think the Close To My Heart Surf’s Up Paper Packet is perfect for telling the story of sunshine days and summer outings. Whether you are spending a day at the beach, the lake, the water park, in the pool, or enjoying a summer BBQ, the Surf’s Up pages will be ready for you to  add your photos and preserve you super fun summer activities.

The scrapbook pages I’ve design with the Surf’s Up Paper Packet include terrific textures, colors, and accessories. I enjoyed creating the Bottom Border compositions on the first two pages shown below. By simply cutting apart a pre-printed background paper I could make a really colorful border to build the theme of the layout. I love the movement in the print, the words, and all the swirling summer-time details.

To accessorize these two pages I added the Close To My Heart Mini-Medley Wooden Collection and extra Hemp Baker’s Twine. The combination seemed to coordinate well with the background paper that has a kind of burlap print to it. The edges of all the pieces of paper are sanded with the Sanding Kit. With multiple sanding tools and grits in the kit it was easy to soften the paper and give that sort of worn look that comes from lots of summer sunshine.

The second layout really plays with the sunshine swirls printed on one of the background papers and the terrific beach ball zip strips that also come in the Surf’s Up paper packet. I love the colors.

Surf's Up Layout 2

The last layout in this group brings a splash of fun with another great background paper, a fun banner, and more embellishments. I think you really could put any kind of photos on this layout. You could even stamp alphabet letters in the banner to create a title and personalize the pages.

Here’s a close up of the Surf’s Up Assortment that coordinates with this paper packet. It is so nice to have pre-made specialty shapes to add colorful coordinated accents to the page. All of the pieces in the assortment are adhesive backed so they really are easy to apply.

I hope you will enjoy creating some summer memories over the next few months. Enjoy some time outside…pack your sunscreen…and be sure to take your camera along. There are great sunshine moments ahead. And I will look forward to helping you preserve those memories on the Surf’s Up scrapbook pages.

There are Scrapbook Dates listed below where you can attend a workshop in the Boise, Idaho area to make the pages. Workshop kits are also available and can be mail to you.
