The perfect party planning tools for your Halloween festivities are part of the Close To My Heart Workshop on the Go “Spellbound” Cricut Kit. With this kit and a CTMH Cricut Artiste cartridge you can create a Halloween party for 8, including treat bags, cupcake picks and liners, soda wraps, and a banner. The kit includes all of the coordinating accessories, an exclusive stamp set, and step-by-step instructions to make it easy to put your party together at home.

Here are some pictures from a Pre-Halloween get together I had with some of the CTMH Consultants on my team. The “Spellbound” kit really was easy to follow and added so much festive fun to the Halloween theme. It was kind of like having a party-in-a-bag. Just cut the shapes on a Cricut with the Artiste cartridge, glue, and go. It is awesome that it includes everything to make a party table look themed-out and fabulous and even treat bags to send home some goodies after the party.

If you are preparing for a spook-tacular Halloween party, order your “Spellbound” workshop kit today. And if you haven’t gotten the newest Close To My Heart Cricut cartridge, “Artiste,” you will want to order that, too. The cartridge has seasonal and themed keys to help with all of your party planning needs throughout the year. You can order your kit and the Cricut Artiste cartridge by clicking on the “Shop” tab or “Shop Close to my Heart Now” box and it will take you directly to my website to place your order.

What could be better? How about an extra special treat?

Good day, Friends. Fall is in the air today. This week the temperatures in Boise are getting down into the 30’s at night. While it does make things a little chilly in the morning, it makes me super excited because it means the little bit of fall color in the trees right now is going to turn into a LOT of fall color in the trees this week. One of my favorite things about Fall is all of the different colors of leaves and how they remind me there are some good things about change. It is a color-rich season so I thought I would share some tips with you for preserving the memories you’ll be making over the next couple of months.

With all the great photo opportunities this time of year it’s perfect for emphasizing natural colors and making scrapbook pages that let the pictures tell the story and speak for themselves. In the scrapbook layout shown below I used photos from a trip to Boston one October with my daughter. The trees in the Boston Commons and the Boston Public Garden were just beginning to change and the colors were absolutely amazing. Take a look.

To really make the colors pop I chose a black cardstock base and then used large color prints of more photos that I took at the park instead of using other Background and Texture papers. This technique adds a lot to the theme development of the layout, keeps the colors vibrant and consistent, and puts a lot of emphasis on the story I was telling with the pictures. I love these giant prints of the red and orange leaves.

And then there are the little accessory details that are so fun to add. I started embellishing with a couple of solid cardstocks that tied into the colors of leaves in the pictures. The cardstock colors are from the Close To My Heart “Flirty” paper pack. I also used these colors along with the Close To My Heart Cricut Artiste cartridge to cut out letters for a clean bold title that coordinates. The Artiste cartridge has a great font and by cutting two sets of the letters in the same size I could offset them to make a shadow effect.  So easy. If you don’t have that cartridge yet, stop by my website and pick one up today. It is incredible!

Creating some accent spots on the letters and around a couple of the photo mats with the new Green Glitz Glitter Gel helps to move your eyes around the pages with that little bit of shimmer. The chipboard tree, leaves, and message are also part of the “Flirty” Compliments. They add a little bit of depth and theme development without distracting from the photos.

Now for one of my favorite new things that’s perfect for little details…check out the Flip Flaps Small Assortment. The new Small Assortment Flip Flaps from Close To My Heart help me add some journaling details to the story without any distractions to the pictures. Remember I wanted the photos and the colors to really be the emphasis in telling the story of our day in the park. The Flip Flaps were the perfect combination, even on top of other pictures. Fabulous!

I put a photo in the front of the Flip Flap and then I put all of the journaling is on the inside. This way all you see when looking at the layout is the photos. Flip Flaps are a great way to add story extension spots to your projects for extra pictures or extra journaling. They come in a big variety of sizes and are super easy to use. I have used two or the four different sizes that come in the Small Assortment on this layout.

The journaling for these pages tells about the history of the parks and the story behind the children’s book “Make Way For Ducklings,” inspired by author Robert McCloskey’s visit to the same Boston Public Garden. Just some fun little details that we learned during our visit.

HERE’S A TIP: As you are taking pictures at the pumpkin patch or the park or on a hay ride this fall take pictures of the people you are sharing the moment with AND take pictures of the things you see around you that are part of the experience. Take some close up pictures of things like the bales of hay, the leaves in the trees and on the ground, the corn stalks, the piles of pumpkins…all of those things are memorable little details that you can use to make your own full-color photo backgrounds on your scrapbook pages and even other fall projects. Capture the texture and the color and have some fun letting your pictures tell more about the story of your fall adventures.

I was in visiting with a special friend and her family in Arizona over the weekend and thought often of the stamp set that I have chosen to feature this week. The “Stamp Set Of The Week” for this last week of September is called “So Grateful.”

Over the weekend we laughed, hiked, ate dark chocolate, and had a fabulous time sharing adventures. I am so grateful for the special friendships that I am blessed with. This weekend I was reminded of a message in this stamp set that says, “Harvest of Memories.” That’s so much a part of being in the moment and having shared experiences with people you care about. It’s creating and collecting a harvest of memories.  I hope as we move into this fall season with all of the great things that come this time of year that you will take time to enjoy making some memories and preserving them, too. (Guess what I’ll be working on in Studio J this week? Watch for the pages of this weekend’s adventure.)

The “So Grateful” stamp set  is so perfect as we head into fall. It has base and shade images similar to last week…but different at the same time. The base image of the pumpkin creates a fabulous solid stamped image that looks great by itself or combined with other images. There is also an overlay piece that is sized and shaped to stamp on top of the pumpkin and add some festive details, however the details are words that have to do with the fall season. Isn’t that fun? The pumpkin stem, leaf, and vines are all separate stamp images which works out fabulous for quick, easy stamping in different colors. No masking needed. Just ink and print. Love that simplicity.

The cute little fall box shown on the right is made from the Close To My Heart Cricut Artiste Collection. That means all I had to do is put the cartridge into my Cricut machine, select the box shape, and push the “cut” button. It is easy to fold and assemble. I especially like the shape and size of this box. It has terrific scallop detailing on the top flaps and handle. It’s too, too cute. Here’s a close up where you can see the different combinations of the stamp designs as well as the variety of accessories that I used to embellish the projects.

All of the project materials are from the Close To My Heart Autumn/Winter 2012 Idea Book. The colors used on both projects are Olive, Honey, Sunset, and Chocolate. The accessories are Bronze Glitz Glitter Gel, Mini-Medley Accents Collection in Olive, Burlap Ribbon, and Dark Chocolate Striped Grosgrain Ribbon. Close To My Heart makes it so easy to color coordinate everything, even the little details, and bring a variety of textures to projects. I love the natural fibers of the burlap ribbon, especially for fall, and the easy bling of the Glitz.

All of those products and so many other great things for fall projects are available to you on my website or through contacting me personally. If you have any questions, please post a comment or let me know. I’m happy to help you with all of your stamping, crafting, scrapbooking, and creative projects.

You can have a chance to get these things or other Close To My Heart products free by entering the drawing for this weeks $25 in FREE Close To My Heart products. Simply fill out the entry form below and you could be the winner for this week’s give-away drawing.

While you are visiting my blog, take a moment to post a comment below.  Share something you are “so grateful” for or other ideas you might have for this this week’s “Stamp Set Of The Week.” There are so many possibilities for these great designs. Enjoy your week and “Happy Fall!”
