I think every day is a great time to celebrate the special people in your life, however, with Valentine’s Day in the mix, February is an especially great time to share the love. This year for the whole month of February I am having a little extra fun with my Close To My Heart family with a photo-a-day activity. This isn’t an ordinary photo activity, this one is a “What I Love About CTMH” Photo-A-Day Activity. We are 10 days into the month and it’s been so fun, so far! Every day we post a picture of something we love about CTMH that ties into the days photo topic.

I thought I would share a couple of my “What I Love About CTMH” pictures with you today.

It’a all about making memories and keeping memories, and I love being able to share this with so many other CTMH Consultants on my team. We all have a story to tell and it’s great fun to be a part of each other’s story. I lead the Creative Hearts Team, which is my immediate family with CTMH. Everyone on the Team was invited to jump in and have some fun sharing what they love about Close To My Heart this month. If you would like to follow along with what I’m posting each day, you can find me on Facebook (Michelle Snyder and Something About Sharing) and Instagram (@sharingamoment).

You can also see what everyone is sharing for their photo-a-day by searching the hashtags we are using. Simply put #CreativeHeartsTeam or #CHPhotoADay into the search boxes on Facebook or Instagram and you’ll be able to see everyone’s different inspiration for each days’ topic. If you have not participated in a photo-a-day activity, you should try it. They can be so much fun. It’s kind of a combination of seeing how you are inspired by a photo topic for the day, and also seeing how other people were inspired by that same topic.

I really do love my CTMH family and being able to share lots of creative and memory making moments together. It’s something I think you would enjoy, too.  If you enjoy scrapbooking, paper crafting, card making, CTMH products, having fun with friends, and even making some extra money to support your crafting habit, February is a great time to become a Close To My Heart Consultant.

A New Consultant Kit is only $75 and includes over $200 in CTMH products…PLUS…a $50 shopping spree! When you join my CTMH family in February, you also receive three Stamp of the Month sets, absolutely free. And, if you have ever been a CTMH Consultant before, you can rejoin this month for only $50.

Getting started is easy!

You can read more about becoming a CTMH Consultant,

If would love to tell you more about the February special and the benefits of being a CTMH Consultant. If you have questions you can contact me at Michelle@SomethingAboutSharing.com.

Having been a CTMH Consultant for 24 years now, I can confidently say this is a great company. More importantly for me, it has also been a great family. You are welcome here, and I would love to share in this fun with you.

Watch for more photos every day in February. There are 18 more days of photo topics to go! Woohoooo! I’m off to do today’s picture. The topic is, “Some Kinda Wonderful!” Wait for it! Have a wonderful day.

I have really enjoyed making the new Happy, Happy Christmas album and projects that Close To My Heart has available this month. With one Workshop Guide, one core set of supplies, and a choice of add on project styles, I can make five different personalize Christmas projects. If you have not heard about this fabulous special, you will want to read on to see what it’s all about. Even though these workshop projects are only available in November, there’s still time to get in on this holiday crafting goodness.

The Happy, Happy Christmas special begins with a bundle of goodies and all of the instructions you need to complete five beautiful scrapbook layouts, that’s ten 12″ x 12″ pages. By using a unique set of products to make the pages, they are like nothing else you will have in your scrapbooks. They have a classic, sort of nostalgic, look to them that is really quite fun.

The bundle includes your choice of a D-Ring or Post Bound Album in this gorgeous red, Memory Protectors, and all of the supplies you see shown below. It’s only $69.95 for everything.

These are the five scrapbook layouts that you can make using the supplies in the bundle and following the Happy, Happy Christmas Workshop Guide.

I can see so many different types of photographs on these pages, including old family photos and black and white prints. Talk about scrapbook pages that are perfect for pictures of Christmas present, Christmas past, and Christmas yet to come, these are great.

After making the scrapbook layouts, the Workshop Guide has complete instructions for creating four other optional gifts. I made one of each project style and added photos, so you could see what they look like all put together.

Holiday Display Tray – The Display Trays can hang or sit in easels on a shelf or mantel. They can hold 3″ x 4″ photos or 4″ x 6″ photos that you cut and spread across two sections.

“Tis The Season” Hinged Display Tray – The Hinged Display is terrific for smaller spaces and adding holiday decor on book shelves, desks, fireplace mantels, college dorm rooms, office cubicles, etc. It was so easy to decorate this project. It could be a great gift for lots of people on your Christmas list. I really liked the way this project turned out. (I especially like the picture of Sophie with snow on her nose.)

michelles-hinged-display-tray-pm

Magnetic Chalkboard Frame – These frames are really very versatile. I like the chalkboard also being magnetic, so I can write on it and also use magnets to hold things in place. The instructions for this project have you glue everything to the chalkboard, however I put some magnetic sheeting behind a couple of my project pieces to make the whole thing removable and reusable every year. This way I can use the chalkboard all year long. And, if red is not your color, the frame can be spray painted to fit the color scheme you need.

michelles-christmas-chalkboard-pm

Everyday Life Album – These are fantastic mini albums with easy My Crush pages and pocket Memory Protectors for adding photos and holiday memorabilia. This is a simple slip on cover made from the supplies left over from the bundle and there are lots of pages inside for memory keeping.

christmas-everyday-life-album-cover

These Happy, Happy Christmas scrapbook pages and holiday projects are available in November in a special pricing package, saving 10% on the album bundle and 30-40% on the frames and decor items. That can be really helpful for your own personal memory keeping projects, and great for gifts, too.

On a side note, if you are giving something like the Hinged Display Tray as a gift, you can either add photos to it as you are making it, or you can just put White Daisy Cardstock where the photos would go and let the person you give it to add their own photos.

There are only a couple more days in November, so be sure to visit my website and order your Happy, Happy Christmas Album Bundle while it is still available. The Workshop Guide that goes with it is something you can download from my website, too.  Click here to shop online.

Enjoy your holiday crafting and memory keeping. If you have any questions as you are creating, contact me at Michelle@SomethingAboutSharing.com. I am happy to help.

I’ve been creating with something super fun and new, the Close To My Heart Flower Market Cricut Cartridge. With 700 new designs, including two new fonts, I am finding so many possibilities for papercrafting fun. There are lots and lots of fabulous flowers, everything you could imagine putting flowers in, and oodles of die-cut shapes that have nothing to do with flowers at all. (Wait until you see the typewriter.)

As I sat down to experiment with this new cartridge, I could not resist making a little red wagon first. It’s fabulous, and I just had to share it with you. Here’s a layout I designed using the wagon, a clay pot, and some flowers. It’s a super simple composition with a fabulous splash of color and shapes from the Flower Market Cricut Cartridge Collection.

Flower Wagon PM

Working with this new cartridge has been great. The handbook is easy to read and shows you all the parts and pieces you need for each die-cut. This wagon can be found on page 3 of the handbook and looks like this.

Wagon Cartridge

The layering pieces are all sized and scaled to make cutting simple. For example, I wanted a wagon that would be 5-inches tall (that includes the handle) for my layout. I set my Cricut machine to 5-inches and left it at 5-inches while cutting each layer. The machine automatically cuts each layering piece to the right size so the pieces all fit together. For the wagon on my layout, I cut the base out of White Daisy Cardstock, the first layer out of Black Cardstock, and the top layer out of Poppy Cardstock.

Wagon Step 1

Then you just glue them together, one layer at a time.

Wagon Step 2

Wagon Step 3

So cute and so easy, right? The flowers and the pots worked the same way.

Flower Wagon Close Up PM

Flower Pot PM

Now you might be wondering about all of the fantastic bright, bold colors you see on these pages. Several of the papers  I used for this layout are brand new Close To My Heart colors. There are actually seven new colors in the Close To My Heart Adventure color group, and the Flower Market Cricut Cartridge Collection comes with a combo package of the Adventure Cardstock. That means you get two sheets of each color and 20 sheets of cardstock all together. There are also three exclusive stamp sets that come with the collection, making it a really great bundle of creative goodness.

Flower Market Cricut Cartridge Collection

You can get all of that beautiful paper, all three stamp sets, and the new Flower Market Cricut Cartridge for just $99.

Now if you are a digit Cricut crafter, there is also an option to purchase the Flower Market Cricut Collection in a digital format for only $79. You still get all of the paper and stamp sets, but instead of a physical cartridge, you have an online code to access all 700 designs online. This is perfect if you use a Cricut Explore machine.

Flower Market Sampler

Well, I will be sharing many more projects down the road that feature more great designs from this cartridge. It truly does have die-cut shapes to take you through all of the seasons of life and the seasons of the year. In the meantime, if you just can’t wait to get your own Flower Market Cricut Cartridge Collection, you can shop on my website by clicking here. When you order your Collection in August, you also receive a free gift from me.

SPECIAL GIFT WITH PURCHASE:

When you purchase the

Flower Market Cricut Collection

on my website in August,

I will send you a workshop package for

this layout as a thank you gift from me.

Flower Wagon PM

I would love to send you a workshop kit for this layout. Everything will be pre-cut and ready to put together. Clearly, I had fun with my first project using the Flower Market Cricut Cartridge. I think you will, too.

NOTE: The woodgrains that you see on this layout are actually embossed Kraft paper that is also new and part of the Rustic Basic Fundamentals paper. As you know, I think having shared experiences and making memories is pretty important. I have been a Close To My Heart Consultant for 23 years and it’s an adventure I thoroughly enjoy. I still love it and would love to share my CTMH journey with you. So… I want to extend special invitation to you to come be a part of my Close To My Heart adventure by joining my Creative Hearts Team this month.

I just got home a few days ago from the Annual Close To My Heart Convention in Orlando, Florida. It was amazing and I had a wonderful time sharing it with my Creative Hearts Team and CTMH friends from around the world. We have so much fun together. There’s lots of laughter, creative inspiration, learning, and encouragement. While Convention is an incredible experience, I love that I can still enjoy connecting with all of these Consultants throughout the year through my Creative Hearts Team. When you become a member of my Creative Hearts Team, you are part of the family and can enjoy being connected to a supportive, creative, and inspiring group of Consultants.

This is us last week, sporting our Creative Hearts Team shirts and kicking off Convention with a Team Celebration.

Close To My Heart has a brand new

Annual Inspirations Idea Book coming out August 1.

One of the fun things about being a CTMH Consultant is that we have access to the new Idea Books and all of the new products a month before they are available to everyone else. It’s kind of like Christmas for Consultants every time a new Idea Book comes out, (which is four times a year),  because we get to create with all of the new products early. In fact, some of my new products just arrived today and I’m excited for some creative time. Yay!

While I cannot show you the pages of the New CTMH Annual Inspirations yet, I can at least show the cover.

Annual Inspirations 2016-17

Well, the New CTMH Annual Inspirations Idea Book is overflowing with amazing new products for scrapbooking, paper crafting, and more. You can be the first to see what’s new by becoming a CTMH Consultant this month.

While it is National Scrapbooking Month, the “Happy Times” Paper Packet that Close To My Heart designed to celebrate this month is fabulous all kinds of creating. With a stunning combination of gold foil prints, wood grain textures, and cheerful floral patterns they make you happy just creating with them. For my project today, I designed a twelve card workshop featuring the “Happy Times” Paper Packet and Happy Times Stamp Set. I really enjoyed making these cards. Not only did creating them make me happy, but I think they will also be some fabulous happy mail that I can share to brighten someone’s day. I think you will enjoy them, too. Here’s a picture of all twelve cards. The papers are gorgeous, right?

Happy Times Cards PM

The way I designed these cards, you can make all twelve cards from half of a package of Happy Time Paper, so there is plenty of paper left over for making a second set or other types of projects. I compiled all of the project pieces into a cutting guide that can be used over and over with other papers to make completely different looking cards, too.

Just in case you have not had a chance to see the “Happy Times” Paper Packet and Stamp Set yet, they look like this. It’s a little hard to see the fabulous details in the photo, especially for the gold foil prints, but there are some close up pictures of some of the cards shown below are a little easier to see.

Happy Times Image

Happy Times Stamp Set

The stamp set comes with 18 different images. I especially like that the flowers, stems, and leaves are all individual stamp designs. This makes it quick and easy to use them with different colors of ink and not have to do any masking when you make the prints. Faster, Simpler, and Easier for sure. The Close To My Heart ink colors I’ve used for these cards are Canary, Fern, Pomegranate, and Smoothie (in second generation).

I chose several Close To My Heart accessories to embellish the cards, White & Gold Ribbon, Gold Sequins Assortment, Pink Enamel Gems, and a gold Metallics Marker. The Gold Sequins and Pink Enamel Gems are both adhesive-backed so they are super quick to add. To attach the White & Gold Ribbon I used Micro Glue Dots which are perfect size for this type of narrow ribbon.

Happy Times Accessories Collage

Metallic Markers Crop

The Metallics Marker is a really fun option for adding details with borders and dots around the card fronts and messages, because it coordinates perfectly with the gold foil in the papers, ribbon, and sequins. You get both gold and silver in a set and they are a terrific value at only $4.95.  In the pictures below you can see a little more of the details from four of the cards.

I’m so excited for May to arrive. It’s National Scrapbook Month and there are some wonderful things to help us celebrate. To kick off the month, I have designed three layouts with the limited edition Close To My Heart Happy Times Paper.  The Happy Times Paper Packet is only available in May. You can purchase the paper for $14.95, or, you can get it FREE. The details are at the end of this post, so keep reading. This paper is absolutely gorgeous.

Happy Times Image

The colors, patterns, wood grain textures, and gold foil detailing are wonderful. It truly is happy paper. It is hard to see how amazing these papers really are in a picture, but wait until you see them in person. Here are the pages I designed using these different patterns and textures.

Happy Times L1 PM

Hapy Times L2 PM

Happy Times L3 PM

I just love mixing the wood grain pieces, bright floral, and gold foil. It is a little tricky to see it in the pictures, but there are two papers that feature the gold foil; a gold foil stripe paper and a gold foil floral pattern that is on the pink cardstock. They really are beautiful.

To accessorizes these pages I chose to use three Close to My Heart embellishments, the Gold Sequins Assortment, White & Gold Ribbon, and a Pink Enamel Gems Assortment. The colors coordinated so well. That is one of the things I love about Close To My Heart supplies, everything matches.

Happy Times Accessories Collage

I also use the special Happy Times Stamp Set for some accents and titles. It’s a great stamp set with 18 separate designs included in the set. Stamping with these images was so easy. The flowers, stems, and leaves are all individual images, which means you can use different colors of ink with each part and not need to do any masking. That’s terrific.

Happy Times Stamp Set

Here’s a closer view of some of those accessories, along with a title example where I added some die-cut pieces from the Close to My Heart Artbooking Cricut Cartridge.

Happy Times Scrapbook Details Collage PM

I love the sound a camera makes when you take a photograph, especially my older cameras. You know, that “click” when you snap a picture. It’s one of my favorite sounds. In my older cameras there was also the sound of advancing the roll of film, too. Also fantastic. Can you tell I really like cameras and taking pictures?

I was so excited this month to see the special stamp set Close To My Heart designed for April. It’s called “Life In Pictures,” and it’s all about cameras, taking pictures, and capturing the moment. It’s fantastic. Check out all of these different types of cameras.

Life In Pictures Stamp Set

Now I can combine several things I enjoy into one fun project with cameras, pictures, and scrapbooking. I thought I would share my first project with you today.

A couple of weeks ago, I shared a post about making your own Background & Texture Paper with alphabet fonts. I often use that “planned random” technique with stamps to make unique papers for my paper crafting projects. When I saw all of these different cameras, I thought they would be perfect for a paper filled with nothing but cameras. So, I grabbed my “Life In Pictures” Stamp Set, My Acrylix Block, Black Ink, White Daisy Cardstock, and my VersaMat and got started stamping.

Life In Pictures Paper PM

Great paper, right? I used four different camera designs to create this paper. It’s is quick and easy. Of course, the paper doesn’t have to be white. You could do the same thing on any color of paper to coordinate with the project you are working on.

In case you’ve never used one, I highly recommend using a VersaMat. This fantastic Close To My Heart tool has two different sides that are really helpful. One side is cushioned and perfect for stamping. The cushion makes it much easier to get clear, clean prints when you are stamping, especially with design images that are more solid. The other side has a self-healing, easy-to-read grid that makes a terrific work surface for putting project pieces together. The grid is wider than 12,” so working with a full 12″ x 12″ sheet of paper is no problem. It’s fabulous tool for crafting. You can find VersaMats when you shop on my website, or just click here.

VersaMat

So, once my paper was stamped it was time to plug it into a scrapbook page. I added Close To My Heart Cardstock in Black, Poppy, Canary, and Desert Sand. There is also a little strip of Crystal Blue Fundamental Papers with the loop texture. Here’s how the layout turned out.

Life In Pictures No Photos PM

Can you see all of the little details where I used other stamp images from the “Life In Pictures” Stamp Set? I used the frame stamp that looks like a Polaroid camera print to make photo mats and a journaling spot. I used a single camera stamped on Desert Sand Cardstock as an accent piece. I also used the word stamps, “Click!” “Snap!,” and “Click!” to add themed accent banners in the top left corner. How perfect is that? The words are just the way I describe my favorite sounds that cameras make. I love this stamp set.

Then came the photos and journaling to finish the story, and it looks like this.

Life In Pictures Layout PM

There you have it. “Life in Pictuers” brought cameras and scrapbooking together for a page that truly makes me smile. This layout is filled with happy moments from a little photo shoot on Main Street U.S.A. at Disneyland with friends…and Mickey Mouse, of course.

On this particular day, I was blessed to celebrate my birthday with my daughter and special friends that I have known for years through being a Close To My Heart Consultant. I’m so thankful that I joined Close To My Heart nearly 23 years ago. My life is full of happy moments like these spent with amazing friends that I have because of Close To My Heart. Close To My Heart has become very much like family. Sounds like fun, right? Let me tell you, it really is.

The “Life In Pictures” Stamp Set is only available during the month of April.

A couple of weeks ago, my daughter and I had the privilege to travel to the Eastern Caribbean on a trip that I earned with my Close To My Heart business. My daughter and I love to travel, and traveling with Close To My Heart is always amazing. Talk about sharing lots of memorable moments, it was awesome. Now that we are home, we are ready to get pictures of our trip into an album where we can enjoy it all again. I finished my first scrapbook layout of the trip over the weekend, so thought I would share it with you today.

Caribbean Font Collage PM

I love color and the Caribbean is overflowing with gorgeous colors. Everything is so bright and vivid. It almost feels like the water, fish, sky, trees, and flowers have all been touched up with photo editing, but they haven’t. They are just simply beautiful all on their own.

For this layout, I chose to use Close To My Heart cardstocks and ink in Honey, Pear, Lagoon, Pacifica, Desert Sand, and White Daisy. And, do you know what you get when you combine Close To My Heart cardstocks and inks with a variety of fun Alphabet Fonts? Lots of creative possibilities.

Starting with a sheet of White Daisy Cardstock, I random stamped the words sunshine, sand, ocean, waves, and palm trees using different alphabet font stamps to create a custom paper that tied into the theme of the layout, while using ink colors that match the cardstocks I would be using for the pages.

Stamping Fonts PM

Isn’t that cool? It’s so easy to create your own Background & Texture Paper by simply mixing Alphabet Font Stamps Sets and ink colors. It’s great.

For this project I used several different Close To My Heart fonts.

  • E1030 Handwritten Print (for “Sunshine”)
  • E1032 Typography (for “Sand”)
  • D1522 Glamour Lowercase (for “waves”)
  • A1182 Etched Alphabet (for “palm trees”)
  • A1117 A typeface (for “ocean”)

Since you build the words on the block, you can spell anything and make paper that coordinates with any themed project. Sometimes I use names of people or places, sometimes descriptive words, and sometimes numbers or dates…anything goes. You simply choose words that help to tell the story. Once the paper is stamped, it can be cut, layered, and used as a Background & Texture Paper for whatever you are crafting. Here’s another look at the stamped paper incorporated into this layout.

Caribbean PM

Alphabet Fonts are some of my very favorite stamp designs. In fact, I have a Medium Organizer full of Close To My Heart stamp sets with lots of different letter styles and sizes that I love using on my projects. Having a variety of letters at my fingertips means that I can easily personalize things like cards, gifts, scrapbook pages, and party banners.

Would you like to try stamping some custom papers for your projects, too?

I’ve got great news for you…. It’s Stampaganza time at Close To My Heart.

Stampaganza

There are so many different sizes and styles. You might like to try something more whimsical, or bolder, or even and outline font. Some sets even come with uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and punctuation marks all in one.

Click here to see the variety of Alphabet Fonts available and shop on my website.

You’ll also want to keep in mind that this amazing special is not limited to alphabet stamp sets, you can mix and match any regular stamp sets in both Close To My Heart books. In fact, Close To My Heart is even making the special stamp set, “Hello Paradise” available in March with Stampaganza. These new designs are not available in any Close To My Heart Idea Book.  The set is similar to the one that Consultants received as a gift for scrapbooking the Eastern Caribbean Cruise.

Hello Paradise 2 Collage

I thought it might be fun to add some waves and palm branches behind some of the words on my random stamped paper. I used wave and palm branch designs from the “Hello Paradise” set in a second generation print for a little more color on the stamped paper.  Using the same ink color, but in a second generation print helps to keep the words bold and the added icon images soft.

Stamping Font Waves PM

Now, just in case you are wondering where that sunshine image came from, it can be found in this month’s Stamp Of The Month Set, “You Are My Sunshine.” You can purchase this fun set in March at it’s regular price of $17.95, OR get it for only $5 when you place a $50 order. So if you are picking up some Alphabet Fonts or other stamp sets this month, you can get a great savings on this set, too.

I think there is something truly amazing in the power of a single smile. A smile can have such a positive impact on the people around us, even in just a short moment. Like those times when you pass someone walking down the street, or when people have been waiting in a long line, or when someone new walks into a room of strangers. A simple smile can say hello, brighten someones day, share encouragement, be supportive, and so many other great things. Sharing a smile can make a big difference.

As a Close To My Heart Consultant, I am so glad to be a part making a difference in the smiles of children around the world through a partnership with Operation Smile. It takes “sharing a smile” to a whole new place and the difference is life changing. Operation Smile is a non-profit organization that travels around the world providing new smiles to children who have been born with a cleft lip or cleft palate. Because so many doctor’s, nurses, and  other people donate their time come alongside to make these surgeries possible, a complete surgery only costs $240. It’s amazing.

Every time I hear stories about the children and families that are helped through Operation Smile, I am just amazed. Here’s ashort video to see a little more behind what it’s all about. I hope you’ll take a moment to watch.

I had braces when I was in Junior High and I remember how I used to smile for school pictures with braces. You know that thing where you smile with your lips together and no teeth showing. Yes, that’s the one. However, my first school picture without braces and with straight teeth, I have a real smile, with teeth showing and the whole deal. I’m sure many of you know the feeling or have seen the difference in your own children.

My parents invested a lot for me to have that smile, and I invested a lot for both of my children to have braces and nice smiles. In fact, I worked a little extra to help cover the monthly payment to the orthodontist. At that time, it cost me $300 a month for my children to have braces and it was a huge stretch for our family. The amazing thing is we were only talking about fixing crooked teeth. It’s hard to imagine what it would be like as a parent to want to help a child with a cleft lip or cleft palate and not be able to. I’m thankful for Operation Smile, the doctors, nurses, and people who make providing these surgeries possible.

I’m also really thankful for the part you and I can have through Close To My Heart. Did you know that a portion of every Close To My Heart stamp set that is sold goes directly to Operation Smile? That’s pretty cool. Even more exciting, in February, Close To My Heart is making the exclusive “Share the Love” Stamp Set available to help raise funds for Operation Smile. As Monica mentioned in the video above, for every “Share the Love” Stamp Set purchased this month, $7 goes to Operation Smile. That’s fantastic. What that means is that for every 35 “Share the Love” Stamp Sets that are sold, another child will be able to receive the surgery that will change their smile and their lives forever.

Share The Love Stamp Set

The stamp set is really cute and super versatile. Don’t you just love the classic camera, typewriter, and telephone? And then there are all of those great messages. This stamp set could be used for so many different types of crafting projects. It’s perfect for sharing smiles through happy mail and special treats. It’s even great for scrapbooking the things that make you smile and happy moments.

I would like to invite you to join me in making a difference this month, and order one of these stamp sets for yourself. This great stamp set and special opportunity are only available in February, so don’t let it slip by.
