Can you believe October has already come and gone? It was a very busy month here, but it’s one of my favorites. Every October, since 1994 I host a Close To My Heart Holiday Extravaganza to share DIY project ideas for Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas festivities. For weeks before Holiday extravaganza I create new projects, so that I can share as many new ideas for gift giving, decorating, gift wrap and tags, table settings, card making, mini albums, stocking stuffers, and scrapbooking as I can. It’s my favorite event of the year, complete with Christmas trees, lights, Candy Cane Cookies, and holiday music. I invite my Close To My Heart customers, family, and friends to come enjoy their first Christmas party of the year to kick off the season, and we have so much fun.

Happy National Scrapbook Month!

How are you celebrating this fun month of memory making and memory keeping? One of the ways I celebrate is to host the annual Scrapbook Fiesta event and share some creative time with friends. Scrapbook Fiesta is a fabulously festive day full of scrapbooking and crafting for everyone. After all, what could be better than a day set aside where you can create to your hearts content and visit with friends at the same time?

Scrapbook Fiesta Collage

These are a couple of pictures from last year’s celebration. As you can see, Scrapbook Fiesta is truly and fantastic way to celebrate and there is something about sharing a crafting day with your buddies (new and old) that makes for a lot of happy moments. We laugh, create, and have a wonderful time together.

I provide plenty of space for crafting, lunch, music, give-aways on the hour, along with Cricut machines, embossing machines, fonts, stamps, papers…everything at your fingertips. You just bring your basic tools, supplies, photographs, and project materials that you have pulled together for the things you want to work on during the day.

Scrapbook Fiesta is a great time to get photos on pages and add completed stories to your albums, but it is a perfect time to make cards or any other paper crafting projects you would like. There is even free Wi-Fi so you can come and make scrapbook pages using Studio J, Close To My Heart’s online scrapbooking option.

Fiesta L2 PM

I chose a bright color palette for this year that coordinates with the new CTMH Carnival Washi Tape set that is shown below. I really like the variety of tape widths and messages that are included in the washi tape set. I also chose some die-cut shapes and titles that I cut on CTMH Crictut cartridges that have a little “signs of today” with hashtag titles and accents. The pages are easy to put together and definitely have a lot of possibilities for preserving so many different types of memories. Carnival Washi Tape 2

Special Note: If you are unable to attend Scrapbook Fiesta, you can order a Workshop Kit To Go for $20 (plus tax and shipping) The Workshop Kit will come with everything you need to make all four pages.

Do you have scrapbook pages that are ready for photos or photos you need to get off of your cell phones and computers? How about unfinished crafting projects sitting around your house? Or has it just been too long since you’ve had some time set aside to get into your creative groove? Scrapbook Fiesta is a fantastic day to just enjoy doing the creative things you like to do.

If you are in the Boise area I would love for you to come and enjoy this year’s Scrapbook Fiesta. It’s going to be great fun.

A couple of SPECIALS to make the celebrating even sweeter…

You can also celebrate National Scrapbook Month with Close To My Heart’s exclusive “Taste Of Summer” Paper Packet and Stamp Set. These two great new products are only available in May, so it’s a small window. I have been having lots of fun creating with them and I think you will, too.

Taste Of Summer Paper

Featuring bold, vibrant colors, this limited edition paper packet is perfect to pair with your sweet summery memories and so much more. It’s super cute and provides delicious designs for your layouts, cards, and paper crafting projects.

In addition to the great paper packet, this D-size stamp set is overflowing with sweet potential. The stamp set includes 15 different stamp images with a fantastic combination of solid designs, messages, and accessory pieces. You get all of these great images for only $17.95 and only in May.

Taste Of Summer Stamps

Creating with these stamps will be so much fun. It’s definitely designed with faster, easier, simpler projects in mind. See how the strawberry is separate from the step and the little berry dots are not attached to the vine? That makes it so much easier to quickly stamp them in different colors to have a multi-colored looking print image without any masking. Love that!

And just in case all of that is not exciting enough, there are even two workshops available to go with the “Taste Of Summer” Paper Packet – one for scrapbooking and one for card making. Close To My Heart designed two workshops that are complete with cutting diagrams, instructions, a list of other supplies you might like to use, and pictures. I  have already used these workshops to make some cards and scrapbook pages. They are quick and easy to use. It’s awesome!

If you are attending Scrapbook Fiesta and would like to have this terrific paper and stamp set to enjoy during the day, you can add it to your registration fee and I’ll bring it to Scrapbook Fiesta for you. You can even make the card or scrapbooking workshops while you are there.

If you cannot attend Scrapbook Fiesta, no worries. I can send them to you with your Scrapbook Fiesta Workshop Kit To Go, or you can find them all on my website. There is no qualifying purchase required to get in on these terrific National Scrapbook Month specials and you can order as many sets as you like. Click here to enjoy the ease of shopping online and order your sets at your convenience. Just remember, there are only available for the month of May.

Happy National Scrapbook Month and however you decide to celebrate, take some pictures, make some memories, and carve out some time to put your stories on pages where you can revisit and share the moments.

Last weekend I had the privilege of spending an evening hosting a customer appreciation celebration to say thank you to some of the wonderful people that I have met through my Close To My Heart business. It was such a fun evening. I designed special projects for them to create. We enjoyed a cheesecake buffet and snacks. It was great. Here are a few pictures of all of us creating, nibbling, and enjoying shared moments together.

It is fabulous to be able to share Close To My Heart with so many terrific people. There is something about sharing moments creating, laughing, and just having fun together that is very special. Whether we get together for papercrafting workshops, scrapbook classes, or holiday events, I thoroughly enjoy our creative time together and am so grateful for their continued support in my business.

“Thanks To You” (my loyal customers who have also become friends) I can continue to do that thing I do with Close To My Heart. I can continue to create, make new friends, travel, empower and equip people to share memory making moments with the people they do life with, teach people how to tell their stories, and help them preserve their memories. After 21 years as a Close To My Heart Consultant, I still really love what I do. I love my job, and it’s thanks to all of you that I can keep sharing my Close To My Heart adventure. Thank you for journeying with me.

Jubilee Group PM

Recently I was watching Walt Disney’s Pollyanna and was inspired to host an old-fashioned summertime bazaar. Pollyanna is set in a small Victorian era town in 1912 where people came together in the summertime for a time of celebration together. You know, the band playing at the gazebo, bicycle parades, and lots of different booths with games, activities, watermelon, homemade ice cream and cake. There was music, laughter, and fun for everyone. What a fantastic way to enjoy warm weather, family, and friends while making some memories.

So…in two weeks I am hosting a morning of creative fun and tasty summer treats for everyone to come and enjoy. Because I have based all of the Make & Take projects and decorations on the Close To My Heart Jubilee Paper Packet, Textiles, and Accessories, I’m calling this event my Summertime Jubilee Bazaar. When you come to this special day, you will enjoy making your way to a variety of booths in my home and backyard where you can enjoy creating three hands-on projects, decorating your own cookie, nibbling some fresh summer fruit, and having a great time with friends. There will even be an optional Base & Bling Buffet where you can design your own necklace to take home with you, too.

  Sparkle and Shine

I am so excited to be part of sharing some of the new products you can find in the “Holidays From The Heart Holiday Gift Guide” from Close To My Heart. The beautiful new papers, stamps, accessories, and exclusive items are sure to make your holiday memory making and memory keeping fun and festive.I have really enjoyed creating my December Scrapbook Group pages with the new  “Sparkle and Shine” Paper Packet and “Sparkle and Shine” Compliments Dimensional Elements. You will love it!  These are the papers and patterns included in the paper packet, as well as the chipboard dimensional elements that coordinate with the paper.

X7176B X7176C

Knowing that we all tend take a lot of pictures over the holidays I designed two layouts that feature Memory Protector Flip Flaps in a variety of sizes so that you can get as many as 46 pictures on those two layouts. All of the compositions are inspired by the Close To My Heart Reflections How-To Book.  It’s my favorite resource for quick pages that have clean lines and flexible spaces. Let’s take a look at how they came together.

Sparkle and Shine Layout #1

Sparkle and Shine Layout 1

The first layout begins like this and I love the way the chipboard compliments create great themed accents for the pages. But wait…it all get’s even better as the Memory Protector Flip Flaps go into motion. Adding Memory Protector Flip Flaps 12″Assortment to the front of the page protector on the first page splits the left half of the layout into two parts. One 6″x12″ Flip Flap goes up and the other goes down to reveal another page with more photos and spaces for sharing your holiday stories.

Sparkle and Shine Layout 1 Flipped

I have also added 4″x4″ Flip Flaps from the Memory Protector Flip Flaps Small Assortment to the top and bottom sections for even more photo and journaling spots. The Flip Flaps attach directly to the page protectors and to the larger Flip Flaps to make the page completely interactive.

art-08

Sparkle and Shine Layout #2

Sparkle and Shine Layout 2

This layout is great on it’s own with 10 photo spots right from the start. However, using the Memory Protector Flip Flaps Small Assortment in the 3″x3″ and 3″x4″ sizes I could turn the same page space that used to hold  10 photo spots into a space that holds 24 photo spots. How awesome is that? I love the extra storytelling space that Flip Flaps create.

Sparkle and Shine Layout 2 Flipped

Here’s a closer look. Sometimes I put the journaling under the Flip Flaps so that when I look at the layout initially I see the photographs first thing. You will also see in these pictures that the Sparkle and Shine Compliments have terrific borders and accent pieces that combine to add great color accents.

Sparkle and Shine Flip Flaps

More Sparkle and Shine Flip Flaps

The “Sparkle and Shine” Paper Packet features a great holiday color combination of Rudy, Juniper, Slate, and White Daisy…plus a shimmery silver accent that you will find both in the papers themselves as well as in the coordinating “Sparkle and Shine” Compliments and “Sparkle and Shine” Washi Tape. It’s so pretty. It’s a little tricky to see in pictures so you just have to order some and enjoying it in person. Click here to shop from the new Holidays From The Heart Gift Guide and see how you can get some free. You’ll love it.

Hop on over to Dana Kessler’s Blog to see what creative inspiration she has waiting for you. Be sure to visit all of the blogs and enjoy the festive ideas.

Thanks for visiting Something About Sharing.
